Techniques for Squid Jigging
- Preparation: Adjust the drag slightly loose (it shouldn't pull line when twitching). After casting, reel in the slack line to ensure a straight line between you and the squid jig.
- Method 1: After the bait sinks to the target water layer, quickly jerk the rod up 3-4 times from 0°-60° while reeling in. Pause briefly to let the squid jig sink for a few seconds, then repeat.
- Method 2: After the bait sinks to the target water layer, reel in the slack, then forcefully lift the rod with one hand (do not reel in). Lower the rod tip and forcefully lift again. Reel in slack, let the jig sink for a few seconds, and repeat.
