Egi Squid Jigs Require UV Light for Best Glow Effect
- Photoluminescent material absorbs light energy to glow (photoluminescence).
- Blue-purple UV light (450–500 nm) offers the highest activation efficiency.
- In the dark, stored energy releases slowly in green or blue ranges, lasting minutes to several hours.
- Standard phone lights, flashlights, or sunlight provide average glow results.
- Due to body materials, charging with dedicated UV lighting equipment for over 10 minutes is recommended.
The Attraction of UV Rays to Fish
- Visible vs. Invisible Light: Red light penetrates down to 55m, yellow-green down to 95m, and purple down to 150m, while water below 100m is essentially pitch black.
- UV Impact: Fish visual sensitivity to UV rays is 7 times higher than humans. Many deep-sea fish rely on reflected UV light to hunt.
- Reflective Gear: Spoons, artificial lures, and crawfish lures reflect UV light to attract fish.
- UV Light in Water: 80% of light in shallow water is UV, and 100% of light in deep water is UV.
