Retrieving Technique
- Method 1: After the lure lands, reel in the slack line with the rod tip pointing down. While reeling in at a steady speed, twitch the rod tip downward slightly to make the pencil lure walk-the-dog in a 'Z' pattern on the water surface until retrieved.
- Method 2: Pause briefly during the retrieve and then reel again. Repeating this stop-and-go action on the surface makes the presentation more enticing.
